Much of what has appeared on blogs have been about what people find positive in the SBL conference. The more attentive reader will notice that this does not always focus on the content ad method of the actual sessions. So hats off to April DeConick for identifying and articulating some of the key reasons for the frustrations that she and others feel about the conference. The whole post makes for valuable reading and I for one, hope that conference organizers take some notice, not least as plans for future re-engagement with AAR take shape.
On another note, and because I suspect that many people don't keep a track of his blog, I also recommend Bruce Fisk's account of his experience of the real New Orleans which serves to put the conference that we love and sometimes love to hate in perspective.
