Back to Blogging: RIP Pete Postlethwaite

Not the cheeriest note to sound at the outset of 2011's blogging, but I like many others, am sad to hear of the death of Pete Postlethwaite at the age of 64. What always struck me about his work was its honesty, and in the movies and on the stage, as well as perhaps in much of the church and in ministry, honesty is actually a surprisingly rare attribute. I saw Postlethwaite at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre. I don't remember the first play, but not long before we left for Oz I saw him play Prospero in The Tempest. His closing speech there made me cry, as did his more famous speech playing Danny in Brassed Off.
