In contradiction to my previous post, actually yesterday (Monday) was the busy day. In the morning I headed to hear my doctoral student Beth Barnett give here presentation on 1 Corinthians 13. In the afternoon I was first up in the Reception History seminar. By 3.00 p.m. the formal work was done and so it was good to head over to the King's Reception and Welcome Event.
This is my first ISBL. The 'feel' is quite different, and I am staying in a scuzzy student room in the King's accommodation block which is a major contrast from the hotel rooms at the Annual Meetings. No receptions, smaller and fewer bookstalls, and smaller seminar groups all add to the different atmosphere. We have all just been evacuated from the main building because of a fire alarm!
Anyway, more Pauline studies this afternoon.
