I am delighted to be able to confirm that my good friends at Whitley College are hosting an event on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd December 2013 focused on the recent work of David Neville, author of A Peaceable Hope: Contesting Violent Eschatology in New Testament Narratives (Grand Rapids: Baker Academic, 2013).
On the evening of Monday 2nd David will present the major themes of his book in a public lecture and book launch. On Tuesday 3rd, he will present some initial ideas about how the argument of the book might extend into an exploration of the Pauline literature. This will be followed by two short papers by Keith Dyer and Sean Winter. My paper is entitled ‘Paul and the Language of Peace: A Survey and Some Suggestions’. Lunch will be available on the Tuesday, and more details will follow very soon.
